Hi Adapters,

Today I'm going to talk about "Methodology for Scientific Discoveries in Mental Health".

My recent research works tackle the problem of mental disease detection. Though useful, they can not answer the important question: how can we treat these diseases? 

We may have already heard some answers, such as "exercising can improve mood", "psychological counselling is effective in treating depression." They are all scientific discoveries that can directly guide our action. The derivation and validation of such conclusions require more techniques than optimizing model structure as we have been familiar with. Therefore, this talk will cover some representative methods to help us make scientific discoveries by capturing association and causality.
