[Adapt] [Seminar] Introduction to Speech Synthesis: Development and Methods

Hi Adapters,

Speech Synthesis (mainly Text to Speech, TTS) mainly aims at producing audio in clarity, intelligibility and naturalness from source text. We see TTS all over our lives with many kinds of variations. You may wonder how this task is solved and what the challenges are.

In today's talk, I will share with you a big picture about TTS and talk about the classical three-step architecture is used as well as the trend to use end-to-end methods by more and more researchers. The talk will basically follow the structure in the paper "A Survey on Neural Speech Synthesis" in 2021. Hope you enjoy it!
