Recently the IEEE Computer Society announced the awards list of the 2023 Edward J. McCluskey Technical Achievement Award.Prof.Minyi Guo was given the award for his contributions to the design and realization of resource-efficient cloud computing.  Four scholars received this honor this year and Prof. Guo is the only Chinese scholar.

Edward J. McCluskey Technical Achievement Award, named after the first chair of the society Edward McCluskey, was established in 1985.It is given to scholars who have made excellent innovation in computer information science and engineering during the past 10 to 15 years. By far there are 103 awardees worldwide.

Prof. Guo Minyi is Member of Academia Europaea, IEEE Fellow, ACM Distinguished Member, standing director and fellow of China Computer Federation, and winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. He is the academic leader of Ministry of Education’s innovation team, chief scientist of 973 project and enjoys the special allowance of the State Council. He won the second prize of the 2019 National Technology Invention Awards and multiple ministerial and provincial-level S&T awards. Prof. Guo is engaged in the research on parallel and distributed systems, big data, compiling and program optimization. He has published over 400 papers on significant journals and conferences as well as 6 works, and obtained more than 40 authorized patents. He has won best paper award for seven time in international conferences.
